I am Nidhi Simmons from Bangalore, India and I run Nidhi Simmons Yoga. I came to the UK in 2011 and have been living in Belfast since 2014. I have a PhD in electrical engineering from Queen’s University Belfast.
Yoga has always been a part of my life, right from my childhood days. It was a part of my school curriculum. However, it was not until my early 20’s that I began a regular Hatha Yoga practice and explored other styles of Yoga such as Ashtanga, Iyengar and Hatha Vinyasa. I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teaching Diploma from Sanathana Yoga Shala (a1000yoga), Bangalore, India in 2014.
I teach a range of classes such as Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Vinyasa Flow and cater to students at different levels. I have taught Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Flow at Santosha Yoga Studio, Lisburn for over 2.5 years, and I am currently teaching Ashtanga Yoga and Evening Yoga at Maitri Studio Belfast. I regularly attend classes and workshops with teachers from different parts of the world. This allows me to continuously learn different approaches to teaching and to improve my own practice.
For me, yoga is a way of life, a journey. It gives me immense joy and satisfaction, and I would love everyone to experience and feel the joy in yoga.

You will practice the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series, which includes sun salutations A and B, standing asanas, seated asanas, vinyasas and inversions. Practitioners will be encouraged to explore these postures in depth, and mindfully integrate movement and breath. All classes are well-rounded and will leave you balanced and energised. You will progressively build strength, flexibility and concentration whilst learning to calm the mind. Every student will be encouraged to work at a level that is appropriate to them to ensure a safe and effective practice. Props and modifications will be offered for proper alignment and ease in postures.
A mixed ability class for those with some experience in basic yoga poses and for those who would like to deepen their practice. You will be encouraged to experience the practice as an active form of movement meditation. The classes will include a strong mix of sun salutations, standing asanas, seated asanas and core work. Practitioners will be encouraged to explore these postures in depth, and mindfully integrate movement and breath. Every student will be encouraged to work at a level that is appropriate to them to ensure a safe and effective practice. Props and modifications will be offered for proper alignment and ease in postures.
Suitable for all levels. A calming class that incorporates gentle asana practice, breath work, and relaxation to support quieting of the mind for a restful night’s sleep. This is a perfect class for those wanting to slow down, ease away the day and just breathe.

Classes are customised to suit the levels of your employees.
Group yoga sessions and one-to-one sessions are customised to suit the abilities of the group and the individual, respectiely. Sessions can take place at your venue (including your home for a one-to-one session) or I can source an appropriate venue.
